Jim - Owner
Jim’s interest in automotive started early on with his interest in engines, from his first mini-bike to building his first muscle car. While working as an apprentice, Jim studied automotive mechanics, attending several technical schools. Although an accomplished mechanic, he pursued another interest, Law Enforcement. After a rewarding career spanning 25 years, Jim retired from police work at the rank of commander. Jim is currently expanding the towing division of Antioch Automotive where he focuses on training and studying the latest techniques on recovery. Besides being an ASE Certified Master Technician, Jim also holds a level 4/5 Wreckmaster Certification and Top Gun Rotator Certification.
Voytek - Owner
Voytek began his automotive career in his homeland of Poznan; Poland in the late 1970's where he attended several years of technical school. Trained in all facets of automotive technology, Voytek specialized in European cars including Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW and Volkswagon. He was also cross trained in diesel engines. An avid aircraft enthusiast, Voytek retired from the airline industry after a 21-year career working as a technician for a major airline at their O'Hare facility. Voytek now runs the repair shop and holds a reputation as a true "mechanic", a guy who can repair anything from a vacuum cleaner to a jet engine.
Rachel - Owner
Besides being a principle owner of the company Rachel also holds the position of CFO. Early in life Rachel took an interest in motorsports by riding moto-cross bikes eventually leading to sport bikes where her daily driver was a Honda CBR600. After marrying and raising two children Rachel returned to school where she majored in criminal justice and graduated from the Police Training Institute at the University of Illinois Champaign. After 8 years of working as a patrol officer for a local police department Rachel was forced to retire after an on-duty injury ended her police career.
T.J. - Service/Towing
Jim's son TJ, came on board as a third mechanic. At age 14, TJ worked assembling engines for a local racing car engine builder. After attending Lake county Technical College, TJ worked as an apprentice mechanic at a local Chevrolet dealership. During his six year tenure, TJ was well grounded in the latest technology General Motors had to offer. TJ works full-time as a Fire Fighter/Paramedic for a city on the north shore. T.J. contributes to the family business by working in the shop and operating the fleet of towing equipment. TJ is Light, Medium, Heavy Duty, and Recovery Certified with Wreckmaster Level 2/3 and Top Gun Rotator Certifications.
Anna - Administrative Assistant/Human Resources
Anna came on board to the family business after 12 years in Law Enforcement. Anna has a Law Enforcement and Justice Administration Degree, and recently completed a Masters Degree in Education. When she is not working she enjoys sports, being outdoors, camping and spending time with family and friends.
Justin - Towing
Justin comes to the towing business after years in a Security Enforcement career. He loves the outdoors and fishing, and spends all of his free time with his family.
Dan - Service/Towing
Since Dan was 5 years old, cars and truck have been his hobby. Dan is a Master Certified International Technician. He has experience in many areas of the automotive world, including trucking experience and car hauling experience. In his spare time, Dan enjoys hunting and fishing.
Elizabeth - Bookkeeper
Elizabeth started her working career immediately after high school as a licensed cosmetologist. After working in an Aveda salon for a few years, she found herself working full time in retail management for Aveda and part time in the salons. Her passions for numbers lead her to the Accounting and Office Management field for over a decade. Currently you’ll find her operating our front office as Receptionist, Bookkeeper, and Dispatch for Antioch Automotive. In her spare time Elizabeth continues her hobby of sewing costumes and attending events such as Renaissance Festivals and Comic Conventions. This fun spirit is always with her in the office, you’ll often see her dressed for the holidays in things such as Cat Woman and Santa’s Elf bringing a smile to the faces of many customers who walk through our door.
Laci - Dispatcher
Laci has worked in the automotive and customer service industry for several years. Her interest in cars and trucks began at a young age, while hanging out with her brothers and Dad. Laci’s knowledge spans from vintage vehicles through light duty to heavy duty towing. In her spare time she enjoys her dogs, traveling, music, hair and nails, and spending time with the people closest to her.
Phil - Towing
Phil brings us over 30 years of towing experience. He has shared ownership with towing services and owned his very own towing service. More recently he worked in Security as a Senior Shift Officer before coming back into the towing world. Phil is a proud father of a daughter who shares the same passion for towing and helping people that he does.
Greg - Towing
Greg has experience as a Solutions Architect and comes to us with 25 years as a Computer System Engineer. Greg has also worked 12 years with the United States Air Force completing airframe and turbine repairs. Greg spends his time away from computers and towing, with his wife. He also enjoys flying airplanes, classic automobiles, and playing the guitar.
Bob - Service
Bob has 29 years technical and hands-on experience with the diagnostic and repair of various domestic and import cars and heavy duty trucks. Bob is passionate about the automobile field and enjoys working on these vehicles daily. Bob also enjoys camping, hiking, and bowling.
Randy - Service Writer
Randy has 35 years of experience in many areas of the automobile industry, including customer service. He spent many years as a mechanic repairing all types of vehicles. With all his knowledge and expertise he transitioned into a Service Writer position which he currently serves in for us. Randy enjoys traveling all over the country with his wife and dog, with Las Vegas and antique markets being their favorite stops. Randy also enjoys working in his shop on his own cars when not diagnosing customer cars.
